Lenovo IdeaPad Flex Pro 2-in-1 Laptop: i5-8250U Review

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex Pro 2-in-1 is a very impressive laptop at this price poin.

A business-ready laptop is how Lenovo classifies IdeaPad Flex Pro 2 in 1 laptop and I could not agree more. This particular laptop is popular because it can be used in four different ways: laptop mode (regular laptop mode), stand mode (where you can watch videos and view photos), Tablet mode (where you push the screen all the way back), and tent mode (where you stand the system on its edges resembling a tent which is well suited for PowerPoint presentations).

Lenovo IdeaPad Flex Pro 2-in-1 is almost a perfect laptop. With great build quality, battery, keyboard, and performance it is hard to imagine how such a great laptop can be so inexpensive.

The MSRP for this machine is $1199.99 but I was able to buy one on sale for $549.99 so if you are in the market for one be sure to be on the lookout for a good deal as you can often find this laptop on sale for $550-$600.

Battery and Performance

The battery for this Laptop is very good and it lasts approximately 10 hours while browsing the internet and using Microsoft office. When watching Youtube and movies the battery will last about 5-6 hours. I was able to watch two movies back to back with plenty of battery to spare.

Performance-wise it will be hard to find any business application this laptop can’t run and with its ability to turn the laptop into stand or tent mode, you can easily use the laptop for PowerPoint presentations. When it comes to gaming the laptop has two Thunderbolt 3 slots giving you an option to add an external graphics card which will allow you to play games depending on the graphics card you opt to go with.

The thermals on this laptop are great. I never noticed the laptop get hot and the fans barely ever come on. When the fans do come on they are quiet and not too distracting.

Build Quality and Screen

What impressed me the most with this laptop is its build quality. The exterior is made from aluminum, very similar to what you get from Apple’s MacBook line with less than half the cost.

The hinge on the laptop is very nice and sturdy which is essential for 2 in 1 laptop due to the constant switching between laptop and tablet.

The keyboard on this laptop is very nice and comfortable. This is no surprise because Lenovo laptops are known to have some of the best keyboards in the industry.

The laptop does come with a fingerprint reader but that is the only weak spot I found for this laptop. The fingerprint reader works in room temperature however if the laptop exterior is cold the fingerprint reader will not notice when you put your finger on top of it so you will be forced to login using a password.

Lenovo Ideapad Flex Pro 2-in-1 laptop comes with a beautiful 14 inch Full HD IPS touchscreen display which supports a 1920 x 1080 screen resolution. There is also a 720p HD webcam and two 3.5mm audio jacks for headphones and a microphone.
